An end-to-end courier operation system — from consignment notes to live rider tracking — built from scratch, handling up to 10,000 parcels a day.

Context

This courier company handled daily parcels for contract customers. The operation needed one central system — for staff, riders and customers — from generating consignment notes (CN) to tracking. I led the build from scratch.

What I built

  • Customer & staff operation system

    Generate CNs, mass download CNs, batch upload CNs via Excel, auto-generate invoices for every contract customer.

  • Native Android staff app

    Riders push delivery updates straight to the server, GPS location captured on every update, live tracking for every CN.

  • API

    Track & trace, validate postcode, create/get parcel, create/get/cancel pickup request, standard + contract customer specific pricing.

  • Integrations

    Pos Malaysia & MatDespatch.

Results

  • Handled up to 10,000 parcels a day.
  • Top 4 finalist at POS Pitch — an open-tender program to build a delivery system for POS.
  • The system is no longer running, but it taught me how to build a high-volume system that has to work every single day.
